Balatonfüred

I prepair myself so hard for hot weather races, and cant get one! :) It was the 3rd race in a row in 10-15 degree and heavy rain. It was no problem again, being honest didnt event think about it during race. Only in moments on roads, when couldnt see anything from dirty water.

Was again about to practice with FFWD disc. Man! It was awesome. Very hilly and tehcnical bike course, added up with tons of water and cloudy, rainy weather. It was working fantastic. 6 lap biking, and all laps started with a "wall" like uphill, u-turn at the bottom. Number lap 4 descided to put the hammer down and see how strong I can ride up on the hill. Well... droped everyone, and rode another 1,5ish lap alon in front. Originally we were 9-10 leading the field, than attacked, and we mounted off our bikes only 6 of us.
Another good chance came to practice my running "stuff" and really started to run. Wasnt afraid of running on 3rd spot for a while. Than hold 4th untill 8ish km mark. And finished 5th, 2ish minutes down on the winner. One of my best runs, still to go! Wont lay back, rather focus harder and keep improving.

Great Half IM National champs is the next main goal. It s on 11th of July. Hope it will be very hot and more windy. Also hope it will be a fair game, and non-drafting will mean non-drafting! :)

Strange but very effective weekend

Huh,

We had a weird double race weekend in Tiszaújváros. 1st of all it was 13 degree and very rany, windy on Day1, it got a bit warmer and dry on Day2 but still too cold. Was not at all concerned about weather, it is only strange in the summer :) Mainly we have this weekend in Tizzy in around 30 degree celsius.

Luckily the is an awesome thermal bath around th race center, so all athletes were found themselves right after the race in good warm water.

2nd reason fro strange feeling, that i had a mistake, never did before. although i always tend to miss the right amount of laps in the pool. I exited water 100m before. From that point all turned to be a hard training session for me. Since I had some 1 minute lead bc of it, thought, well I could TT for a while and see, what can do against the leading group. They turned to ride 40 secs faster on 20 K, which means to me only good news. I ride much better in heat and also when motivated to ride away.
Anyway we mounted off and they caught me after 500m (had some trouble with shoes to in transition, but nver mind it) on the running course. I had great legs, and felt pretty comfortable. Had a nice steady run tempo, so conserv some power for next day, team champs - no use of killing myself, since I got DQ-ed, but still had a good training out of it.

Day2. I wanted to win the team champs so badly. I really thought we are capable of. I only didnt agree on team tactics, and team consistency, but I did my job. Raced as I was told to race, that s my duty. We were pretty slow on the swim leg, but that s ok, bc wanted to ride hard. Only had some mistakes on the 20K but mostly some of us couldnt hold the pace high. Though the main idea was done, and we conserved the 3 athletes to run their best. No secret we had 2 of us killing ourselves on bike (Milan and me), so other 3 can blow out of T2 and run others down. The story got a flop and I needed to run instead of 1 of them. At that point I was absolutely dead, having worst headache ever (bein honest got a bit scared) during work hard on bike. Anyway - I thought - I wanted to work on my run, so I really put the hammer down, and give it all I had.
After all we finished 3rd , losing 2nd place by only 1 sec.

Over all I had a fantastic weekend, really killing myself, and improved where I wanted, and improved good! Looking forward next few fun races, and focus on main race 11th of July, Zanka, National Half Ironman Champs.

Announcement ( FFWD Wheels )

Hi folks,

I am proud to announce that we start a cooperation with FFWD wheels (link on the logo on right side). It is a beginning, they support me with some huge discount, so I bought a pair of race wheels. Namely: Rear: FFWD Disc, Front: FFWD F5R.

I just came back from a test ride. 'st of all the sound of the wheels are already awesome. I feel they ll be a good partner in some hard break away trys very soon. You know, get going and get in the flow, pushing pedals hard, and listen to the noise of these fast wheels.

Secondly they are very light! F5R is just like a feather. Disc also lighter than my Shimano training rear wheel, plus once it is got going, feels so good to push hard.

Here u are some pics below:

Tooo light

That s bro. Do not go anywhere without a "fasirt".Yep.

Also had today some, fast fast running session, which is just great regarding, that a few days ago finished IM 70.3 Austria.

St.Pölten Ironman 70.3

It was an awesome experience. Dont know where to start. In this photo that is Chris McCormack in front of me, Marino Vanhoanecker is not on it, but still he is the one was leading us and the whole field. And that s Marko Albert with green bike on the left.We are on our way on 18km part of S33 autobahn.

Too bad, that around 30Km at the top of the hill I got dropped bc a little gap opened and also rear derailleur didin't want to work properly. Not to mention that the big boys were using Discs, while me rolling my old trusty training set :) It was only 1 day, and I would have ridden my discs too, and probably finish bike with them.

Anyway still managed to ride only 6 min slower today than fastest bike split, which is 10 minutes faster than last year's (that was my 2nd attempt on half distance, this was 3rd).

But beginning all with the start. I positioned myself next to Marko Albert since I knew he s a talented athlete, and will dictate just the best and most comfortable pace for me. Also will post a photo below, where we wish good luck to each other. Both of us are Blueseventy athletes, so I dismissed my plan to exit water 1st. Anyway he was leadin the whole way, so it was just fair like this, leting he be the 1st to step on shore. We got away with 40ish seconds I think, and exited water together. After a quick transition (he yes, me was bit slow :) )we instantly found ourselves on S33 "autobahn rolling. After a couple of Ks Macca and Marino caught us, so we continoued 4 together. They worked only, I was hanging there keeping 10ish meters. I am just a rookie so it was fine. "The rest is history."

On the run I started good kind of a 1h20min half d. pace, but got cramps aroung 8 and suffered, needed to stop, also felt pretty dizzy. Just ate something and kept going. Found rythm again, while still cramping. Around 15ish K mark got "fast stomach" and needed to visit loo badly. Started again, found good rythm, cramping more... Before 500 m to go, needed to go to loo again but more badly than ever, fortunately just passed a toi toi. Rigth after the incident sprinted whole way to finish line in a hope i ll might pass anyone got in front of me while having "trouble" :) Without these stops clear run split was around 1h26min. Which is just 12 mins faster than last attempt.

Race will be on tv on 17th of June, on Eurosport, and sometimes on ORF1. Also available short coverages on both channles' website.

A short copy from race report:

"Austria IRONMAN 70.3 2009: The world champion wins in St. Pölten!
After an exciting day of racing Chris McCormack wins in 3:54:15, moments ahead of Marino Vanhoenacker at the 3rdThe Austria IRONMAN 70.3 had an impressive list of PRO’s on the starting line, which included names like McCormack, Vanhoenacker and Wallenhorst. The number of entrants had quadruple in its third year and the race was set to fulfil everybody’s expectations of an all out day of extreme racing...

Marko Albert (EST) set a new swim record in (0:23:18), followed by Adam Molnar (HUN) and Chris McCormack in fifth. The first woman out of the water was Lucie Zelenkova (CZE) chased by Eva Dollinger (AUT) in 0:25:26 and Gina Ferguson (NZE) in 0:25:30.On the bike course Chris McCormack (AUS) took an early lead ahead of Adam Molnar (HUN). At k 21 there was a change of leaders as Marino Vanhoenacker (BEL) overtook McCormack. Albert Marko (EST) and Adam Molnar (HUN) were close behind. From this point McCormack and Vanhoenacker battled in out in an exciting head-to-head challenge. Title defender Massimo Cigana was placed fourth. "

Marko and me before start on the pontoon.

On autobahn with leaders. Look at the fixed helmet and those demon training wheels :)

Autobahn lalalalaaaa. Just wait until FFWD race wheels arrive :)

So over all I am happy, and will keep the good work. Still so much to improve, that will only come with time and experience. I ll be there and fight hard to be better.

2009 Buschütten Triathlon

Hi,

Here you are a very nice video coverage about the race:

http://www.tri-mag.de/index.php/200905102311/Kurzstrecke/Buschhutten-Kienle-verteidigt-seinen-Thron.html

and a race report also available on the link (in deutch):
"Der musste um seinen zweiten Sieg wie erwartet hart kämpfen: Nach 11:54 Minuten beendete der Ungar Adam Molnar als Erster die 1.000-Meter-Schwimmstrecke im beheizten Freibad, das Hauptfeld schlug etwa 15 Sekunden später an... "

Huge thanx for Blueseventy, helping me to race there, and also providing such a great swimsuit as Pointzero3. How else would it be possible to swim that was, while feeling that easy!

Was so disappointed, having the main mistales done, ohh just as I started doing triathlon this year. Bad, bad.

But good thing in bad things, my hunger grew to show my abilities in St.Pölten Ironman 70.3, 24th of MAy.

See you around

Season Opener (Margit Island)

A good block of training in pocket since the TT race on 5th of March. Really enjoyed to get back to the rythm and do weeks after weeks, and follow all orders from coach Woody.

Still have work to do untill St.Pölten, but we had a little rest of a breath and inserted a sprint triathlon. I was glad that I could so-so follow orders, and did a flawless victory. From the start untill the finish line, all alone, doing my race. I didnt have any expectation about swim. Therefore it was a pretty big surprise I got away easily, have no clue, but must have been something like 20 seconds from 2nd fastest swimmer.
Bike was all good, only couldn't move faster as command said. I gained like 1 min 30 second-ish gap on 2nd, and a nice 9-10 athlete group formed behind me. Including my bro, who is improving like with speed of light. He finshed 5th, and gained a lot of worthy experience, since it was his 2nd sprint race ever.
Run was quiet a fun, 1st felt strange, all body jelly. Than focused and put run together, and started to run faster and faster. But there was noone around so was not much forced to run really fast.

That s it.

NExt weekend hopefully I ll manage to get to Buschhütten and be able to compete the best athletes on a non-drafting olympic distance race. Elmar Heger from Blueseventy was so kind and helped me with registration, so Rainer secured a spot amongst pro athletes. Cant wait, it must ll be a good good fun, and pain :)

See ya

18 km Greenzone TT road race, Budapest (Szentendrei- island)

Hi Guys, (and girls) :)

Wow, just finished 1st race of the season and feel pretty satisfied.

Here are the results so far:
- My brother (he is my training partner, and going to race this year):
25'16" = 42.74 km/h
- Me
24'38" = 43.84 km/h
Our only excuses, that we raced our trusting pairs of training wheels, while facing the army of Discs and 3 spike front wheels.
I have an extra excuse, despite the fact I dont need any right now, that a car blocked me nicely at 3 Ks to go :( It gave me 2 things: a few sec negative, and a cup of adrenalin :)

It was a nice race to participate, while still doing our heavy trainings.

A few weeks and we stand on the start line of St.Pölten 70.3 Ironman !!! Yeee

See ya,

Adam

Gotta watch it! So so deep

Hi all,

The training stuff is just going all right, so not much to talk about it. Do the hard work day by day, that s it.

But!

Here is the movie. Title: AUSTRALIA

This one made it into my top 4 movies. Just full of symbols. I dont know if it only me, but this film summarize a lot about our (so called )-"civilization" and traditions, roots and us.

No more to talk, go out there and watch it!

Some more about the state of preparation progress

1st of all, wow, my athlete, Andi just broke again his 2K swim PB (3rd time, since december), with another 37 seconds, doing as we cut back his swimming to 3 sessions/ week now. Congrats

I am really amazed with the program i recieve from coach Woody, and with the results I experience. Of course I am having ups and downs, but it s okay. With all the problems still able to train permanently, no rest day, if there s a reason, just have an easy day or 2. But really just doing haard job since november, and extremely enjoy it.

In February, new toy, the Scott Plasma II arrived and brought a lot of joy. I spent the last few weeks (beside train my a.. off on the machine) to find my fit on the bike..you know few mm here, a few there. Right now I am quiet finished with it, only looking for a stem (adjsutable angle) and things are really done.
They say it s common , when you change for TT position, you burn your quads 1st for a while. MAn, it s in flame all the time. And it is a good news, bc I tend to have tiny quads. I ain't have muscles now, but steel-cables there, and they seem to be thicker and thicker. :) Also a good news, that i do not use any wattage-stuff, so work on my inner feeling scale, which I am considering is the best way fro me to do.
So, right now am pretty satisfied and having the feeling when you own a special power and no controll of it. Can't wait to throw the leash away.
Which goint to happen 1st on 5th of April on a 18 k TT road race. Which ll be my 1st TT race ever, but that doesnt mean a thing, ll have no mercy and ready to win it.

The run part is also awesome. Coach really found the key and am really looking forward how legs gonna shoot during the season. The real BIG "taste" will be 24th of May, austria 70.3 and that lovely 21K run. Right now all I need to do is to be careful with intensity and take good care of recovery. As my friend used to say: "Just do 1000 things right a day..." Vic Plata.

Hope all u triathletes doing good, see ya

2.16.2009

Never seen such a thing ! ,)

Okay, the tracks name is basicly this: Triathlon, cool.

By the way, training is going real good, and we show some huge improvements. Feel already so much motivation to race, can't wait the season to kick off!

Have a self-confidence boosting "test" results, but those are just numbers, and we never know untill crossing the finishline. So wouldn't bore anyone with datas...

Ll be back, and enjoy the track.

My club in Austria in 2009

In 2009 I am going to race a lot in Austria and some in Germany. Main focus is on non-drafting races, very rarely will I do draft legal ones. As well, stepping up to longer distances.
Some main races from the 2009 calendar of mine:
- Ironman 70.3 Austria (St.Pölten)
- Ironman 70.3 Germany (still under construction :) )
- Hungarian half championships (Zanka)
- IM Austria Klagenfurt ( ll be a tricky one)
So it seemed a wise decision to sign for an austrian club. Since I am already worked for dertriatlon.com Fuerstenfeld , and knowing Andi from 2006, it was so obvious to race for them.
With their, Scott's and the S'Radl-Eck (Armin)'s help I am going to use a Scott Plasma 2 TT bike in 2009 (and I guess it will be sold after a year - if only I ll love this bike too much ! ). Which is going to be very exciting. Non-drafting races demands the use of TT bike, since aero dynamics plays a big role in this game. You can see "La Demon" above on the picture, such a solid machine ! :)
I am training full gas now, and am looking forward to race, and sometimes hang out with new team mates ,)
So hope to see you guys soon, and compete!

His attitude is the best!

Break away! Let s see what 2009 brings :)

Another one

I found it on Jeol Filliol's (one of the greatest coaches):

a quote
'We tend to celebrate risk only after it has led to great things, which means we rarely celebrate the risk-takers who haven't yet been rewarded for their efforts. The paradox here is that we are often unwilling to embrace ambition and originality until it is safe to do so - in short, we're unwilling to take risks ourselves."

Just great!

Whatever tomorrow brings...

"Whatever tomorrow brings, I ll be there, with open arms and open eyes, yeah..."
"It's driven me before. And it seems to be the way that everyone else gets around. But lately I'm beginning to find that. When I drive myself my light is found..."
Incubus
Whoever wants the song, here it s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zN9vd9WUiA
And quotes from Pre(only some, the bests):
“A man can fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else."
"A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more. Nobody is going to win a 5,000 meter race after running an easy 2 miles. Not with me. If I loose forcing the pace all the way, well, at least I can live with myself."

"You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement."

That fro now. bye, just was in a good mood.Bests!

I. Swordfish Swimming Workshop

I. Swordfish Swimming Workshop, 2008, Austria

I just arrived home from Austria, where I held (with the help and invitation of Andreas Fuchs, Fürstenfeld Triathlon Team) my 1st swimming workshop. I know Andi from 2006, when I raced the Thermen Triathlon in Fürstenfeld, and he was organizing it. Well... 3 years later he sent me an e-mail, that there is a need of a swimming workshop.

I am a very old school coach. So I don't really have a slide and a full website about it. We can say, I am not a good marketing manager type person :) . All my plans, including the schedules are in a normal notebook (paper). Although we took video recordings - both normal/ underwater, which I analyzed for each of everyone. We had swimming sessions, dryland sessions and several teaching and other activities. And we had very good time as well: cup of coffie, dinner and we had a good laugh.

The participants were all ironmen and wannabe ironman, most fo them having a family and above age 30. Names: Andi, Jozef, Gerald, Cristoph, C-D, Manu, Christian, Martin, Klaus (Mr. Mark Spitz), Marko. All of them has a very good spirit, and strong willing to improve-which is very nice to know. They were able to improve by day. Some of them even surprised me (which is not easy to do). I just can't wait to see them race better and better :) (if you read it guys: Dont forget to remeber everything, mainly your notes and my instructions and do efforts every day, 100% correctly- other way you won't meet your aims).

A few words about my accomodation, which I fell in love with :) . It is in Weinberg, and called: "Kürbishof" - go there and find out what it means. Here you are the website : http://www.kuerbishof.at/ .The best breakfast I had there, and my favorite dinning room is there (where you can't use your cell-phone, by some kind of magic. You can use it outside, but not in the dining room, the cellphone just goes off.) A special thanks to the owner, Christian Gartner (who is an ironman), to let me stay ther for 2 nights and have those lovely breakfasts.

Maybe in the future he will be our partner and we will make Kübrishof for the official accomodation for the Swordfish Swimming Workshops and training camps.

That is all for now, see you later with more news.

Adam

Into The Wild

Long Nights

Have no fearFor when I’m aloneI’ll be better off than I was before
I’ve got this lightI’ll be around to growWho I was beforeI cannot recall
Long nights allow me to feel…I’m falling…I am fallingThe lights go outLet me feelI’m fallingI am falling safely to the groundAh…
I’ll take this soul that’s inside me nowLike a brand new friendI’ll forever know
I’ve got this lightAnd the will to showI will always be better than before
Long nights allow me to feel…I’m falling…I am fallingThe lights go outLet me feelI’m fallingI am falling safely to the ground[ Long Nights Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com/ ]

Am now working hard, and continous, having good results and looking forward pretty much to race in Alanya in 26th of October.

See ya there, at the raceline.

I am racing again, the magical 3

It was so nice to race again. I got injuired in the middle of my season this year. Still started and finished The Tizzy World Cup, with much of a pain. It was a good experience though, swimming right behind JAvier and ride pretty strong.
As it is common (usually after break downs, happens), it was a turning point for me. A lot of things have changed, and it s Alun Wooward again, being my coach.

We recollected our thoughts and determined a few aims. Put a basic program together, which I am following in the last 8 weeks firmly. Just finished my 3rd race in a row, all of them were european cups ( polish, austrian, and serbian).

BEfore the 1st I only managed to have 4 running sessions due to the recovery since the world cup. In the same time improved a lot on bike. Was able to get away from the field in the last 2 laps and gain 45ish seconds lead.

2nd race, Vienna. Exiting the water 2nd was great, and feeling still fresh. Put a load of work on the bike, unfortunately lost the best opportunity to get away with O'Grady and the austrian, with whom we worked the most. Although this races supprise was my run, which is still slow, but improved a lot in a week.

3rd. Belgrade. It was a weak filed compare to the 2 before. So was a great chance to make a get away. Which I managed to work out. Pulled hard the swim in the front untill I saw it is only 3 of us having enough gap to get away on bike. It was O'Grady and Greer, both of them having a good work ethic. We gained 2'40" untill the 5th lap on the main group. Unfortunately the kiwi fella got flat tire (sorry Graham), so it was Greer and me to hold or gain the gap. We entered T2 with a 3'10"ish gap. And hold some of it untill the finish line. I took silver.
